YMCAVolunteer to assist with virtual/remote learning as well as STREAM (science, technology, reading, engineering, arts, and mathematics) as well as , physical activity & SEL (social-emotional learning.

Abundant Life tutoring services and mentoring programs for residents of the Prospect Neighborhood and Johnson Elementary School, Walker, and Buford.

Wildrock – is working to provide virtual programming for youth in the Charlottesville, Albemarle area. They need volunteers to help with vitual programming.

Music Resource Center – needs volunteers to help provide tutoring for students in the learning lab

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Central Blue Ridge – The program is in search of more Bigs, to meet community need. Volunteers would need to go through the program’s training process and make a time commitment. 

Girls on the Run of Central Virginia, INC – Volunteer to be a coach or running buddy. GOTR will provide training and a background check. They need coaches to support blended and virtual training programs. Coaches/ Run buddies commit to volunteer two times a week for eight weeks.

Enrichment AllianceVolunteers with backgrounds in special education, literature, and who are comfortable with WordPress

Dept. of Human Services/ Community Alliance – Mentoring through Evergreen (for Walker and Buford students who are victims of crime) based on referral and screening

Boys and Girls Club – is in need of volunteers to provide assistance in various areas. Link to the volunteer form here.

Cultivate Charlottesville – In response to CCS’s decision to pursue virtual learning, Cultivate Charlottesville’s school garden programming is prioritizing after school engagement in 5 Charlottesville city neighborhoods: Friendship Court, 10th and Page, Prospect Neighborhood, Hearthwood, neighborhoods. Dept. of Human Services/ Community Attention – help meet the needs of the department by donating items such as math materials, white boards, or desks and chairs here.

Music Resource Center – is in need of personal protective equipment (PPE), cleaning supplies, arts and school supplies, and technology.

C4K (Computers for Kids) – is seeking donations to support programming efforts.
